Here is the beginning of my second day bakery.  We repainted the basement, which was formerly a playroom, and bought a metal shelving unit.  Now when the bread comes out of the oven, we bring it downstairs on a pizza peel and let it cool on the wire rack.  Then we wrap it and put it in tubs for delivery.

As you can imagine, Mr. Mustache really needed this.

Check out the art work.

Cowboy Sam

When two friends come together, it makes something better than either can be on their own.  Sourdough Sam and Cowboy Cheddar have formed a beautiful friendship.  Introducing Cowboy Sam.

Cowboy Sam has a four-cheese blend: aged parmesan, provolone, cheddar, and mozzarella.  It is made with my personal homemade sourdough starter.  It is crusty and chewy and shaped in a short baguette.

How to eat it:  A lot of my breads taste so good straight out of the oven.  Bumpkin, Sourdough Sam, and Cowboy Sam are exceptionally good when you pop them into a hot oven for 5-10 minutes before mealtime. My family has made a sort of pizza out of the Cowboy Sam.  We slice it in half and then put some toppings and cheese on it and broil it in the oven.  Yum!  Also, it would be great with summer tomatoes and basil.  In the meantime, we are eating the Cowboy Sam with tomato soup.

Try one and let me know what you think.  Here is an advertisement I made for my Cowboy Cheddar bread.  It still applies.

Happy Mother's Day : A Story by Mr. Mustache

In ancient Egypt a young boy invented bread.  What most people don't know is that his mom invented bread labels.  She also invented wrapping paper.

He became very successful selling bread up and down the Nile, and his mom helped him.  She was not just a hard worker, she was a thinker too.  She always thought of ways to help her family.  When she had a good idea, she put it into action.

One night there was an eclipse and the mother was very tired.   Even in the dark, she helped her son bake his bread.

Another time the boy locked his brother in a sarcophagus and threw him in the Nile River for all eternity, but his mom never held it against him.

The boy was very bad at hieroglyphics.  His mom never gave up until he could spell correctly.

The mom was always happy.  She always had a good attitude and a smile.  When the gods weighed her heart, it was light and beautiful. The monster of the dead went to sleep hungry.

Farm Union- My Customers of the Week!

The ladies of Farm Union have been great customers.  They have always helped me find the person that my order goes to.  I've always been able to sell my extra bread there and I have made some good friends.  These ladies are great!

Everybody got a smile from this picture (not a Silly).

Instead of giving everyone their favorite bread, I gave them a gift certificate for a free loaf of Mr. Mustache Bread.  These gift cards are available for purchase.  A fun gift idea would be to buy a loaf of your favorite Mr. Mustache bread and a gift card for the recipient to also try one of their choosing.  My bread makes a great gift because it is delicious, it is already wrapped, and it has personality!  It is a gift people are always happy to get and will remember.
